ST-Koneistus Has Implemented a Service Which Makes It Easier To Monitor Changes In The Laws And Regulations Related To The Company
ST-Koneistus has taken the laws and their amendments governing its operations into an even tighter grasp by using the Linnunmaa Lex legislation follow-up service operated via a web browser.
There are so many laws and regulations governing industrial operations that keeping up-to-date with them would require truly extensive knowledge. The service we have implemented facilitates, among other things, the follow-up of legislative changes and familiarising ourselves with them. This enables us to take changes into consideration better in the development of our actual operations.
“From the huge volume of laws, it is difficult to grasp which laws and regulatory changes are significant concerning the operation of our company. Now the experts interpret the laws for us, and we receive answers on how the changes will affect ST-Koneistus, and what actions we should take with regard to the new laws,” says Mari Romppanen, Quality and Production Engineer.
In practice, Linnunmaa Lex keeps its customers up-to-date by sending them Change notifications and Notice reminders. The company also offers an auditing service, i.e., an assessment of compliance with the ISO standards.
In addition, the service helps employees to read up on laws that are statutory to display in the workplace for all employees to see. Main users are also able to check whether matters in their own company have been managed in accordance with applicable legislation.
In ST-Koneistus, implementation of the legislation follow-up service was facilitated by the fact that the ISO 14001:2015 quality standard requires that legislation is monitored and the company must also present evidence on this. Topical legal issues have usually also included changes regarding occupational safety, and lately also the General Data Protection Regulation.
