The total value of the investment, including the machine and automation, is approximately one million euros.
ST-Koneistus is strengthening its production capacity and continuing the systematic development of its manufacturing operations by investing in a new automated multi-tasking turning cell. The system consists of a Mazak Integrex i-250ST NEO multi-tasking turning machine, a FANUC R-2000 robot, and an automation system built around the cell, delivered by JTA Connection.
The new cell is designed to support efficient, flexible, and highly automated turning and machining operations. In the system, blanks are fed into the cell via a dedicated conveyor line, after which the robot loads the parts into the machine and unloads the finished parts after machining. The finished parts are then transferred out of the cell on a separate conveyor line.
The cell also includes two pallet positions, which can be used, for example, for lifting, handling, or packing parts directly from pallets. In the solution delivered for ST-Koneistus, a measuring device will be installed in one of the pallet positions, enabling automated quality assurance for the manufactured parts as part of the cell’s operation.
– There has been very strong demand for our turned-part machining capacity, and the investment decision was made within a very short timeframe with our customers in mind. I would also like to thank Wihuri Oy Technical Trade, which was able to arrange an exceptionally short delivery time for the machine, says Tommi Peltonen, entrepreneur-owner of ST-Koneistus.
The new cell will be commissioned during October.
